The laboratory

Built to connect disciplines.

LAMSD brings together advanced materials, structural mechanics and digital technologies within one multidisciplinary research environment.

01

Who we are

LAMSD is a research laboratory at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, dedicated to advancing multidisciplinary science and engineering through the study of materials, structures and digitalization.

The laboratory combines analytical, computational and experimental approaches to understand complex behaviour across scales—from nanoscale materials and resonators to full engineering structures and systems.

How we work

A

Across scales

We connect material-level mechanisms with component and system-level structural performance.

B

Across methods

We combine modelling, simulation, optimisation, testing and digital manufacturing workflows.

C

Across sectors

Our work supports aerospace, construction, manufacturing and other demanding engineering fields.

Advance the science of materials and structures while strengthening the digital thread that connects design, manufacturing and operation.

One connected
engineering environment.
