The study investigates how printing parameters influence the anisotropic mechanical response of PLA produced by fused deposition modelling. Printing angle and layer height are identified as dominant factors in the reported experiments.

A 0° printing angle gave the strongest response within the study’s tested conditions. The resulting models are intended to help anticipate mechanical behaviour; this finding should not be read as a universal optimum for every geometry or loading condition.
